B.Y.O.D.

Now, what are we going to do with this plethora of knowledge that we have been introduced to? Today was a day of planning. We talked about how we plan to share what we have learned with our colleagues in August. A common thread in our conversations was consistency. Consistency is very important for any aspect or program to be successful. In groups, we compiled a list of ways to approach school districts with a "no-tolerance" policy for student devices. After looking at the pros and cons, it is easy to see that as educators, we have to be familiar with the new technology that is available and incorporate it into our classes. Our students need to know the technology to be competitive in any way once they go from high school into their college or career. I know that we are creatures of habit and tend to be set in our ways but change is good for all of the stakeholders involved in education.
